Vom Schwarzen Donner Rottweilers

Code of Ethics Rottweiler Kennel & Breeder

My name is Amanda Moody, I am 22 years old and I have been involved with the Magnificent Rottweiler breed for over 5 years. I enjoy showing my dogs in AKC conformation, and the occasional Sieger show. The dogs and I also enjoy training for activities like Competition obedience, Agility, and sport of Schutzhund.

I currently have Two Rottweiler’s living with me, Akc ptd. Jayda von Letzte Krieger CGC, TDI, and her beautiful Son, Balou vom Schwarzen Donner. I consider my dogs to be members of my family. They live inside, and even have their own bedroom(even though they prefer to seep in my bed). When the weather is nice they spend plenty of time outside in fenced in run with a comfy dog house and plenty of straw to keep them clean and dry. We enjoy spending lots of time together at the beach, going for rides in the truck, fetching sticks or just hanging out on the couch.

My infatuation with the rottweiler breed started when I bought my first pup "Donner" as a pet in 2002, Sadly Donner died in a car accident shortly after turning 11 months old. Donner is Deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a great dog and a true ambassador for the breed. Some time after loosing Donner, his Brother, Ra was given to me by their Breeder. Ra turned out to be an incredible dog and the Best friend I have ever had. But on January 5th of 2008, while I was away from home visiting Family during Christmas, Ra was killed in a terrible accident. I made the mistake of leaving my dogs in the care of someone who I though I could trust, and now my boy is gone. Needless to say, it has sometimes been a hard 5 years.

This website is dedicated to my Boys Donner and Ra, and my kennel Vom Schwarzen Donner, meaning "of the Black Thunder" in German, is named in their memory.

They will never be forgotten.

Our Breeding Program

Breeding, Raising and Showing this Magnificent breed is a true passion for me, and in no way is Breeding Rottweiler’s a source of monetary Gain, or income. It is our intent to better the breed when producing a litter. Our litters are few and far between, and a lot of time and effort go into planning each breeding long before it takes place.

After much research and study, we have decided to only use dogs for breeding that come from the finest of German Blood. Still To this Day, the best Rottweiler’s in the world are bred in Germany. Germans Breeders adhere to strict regulations governed by the Allgemeiner Deutscher Rottweiler Klub (ADRK).

We too are committed to upholding high standards in Our breeding program by selecting dogs for breeding that are outstanding examples of the TOTAL Rottweiler. By that I mean dogs that have exceprional German pedigrees that exhibit a friendly, outgoing correct rottweiler temperaments, have correct conformation and breed type, who posses strong drive and working ability, and also have passing OFA Scores, or the international equivalent.

The dogs at our kennel are out of top quality German Imports who come from the absolute best show and working German bloodlines. In our Pedigrees you will find dogs such as Norris vom Grutenblick, Balou vom Silberblick, Oskar v.d. Weinrebe, Rick von Burgthan, Furst vom Wolfert turm, Balou vom Silberblick, Bea vom Teufelsbruke, Face vom Teufelsbruke, Aki vom Schwaiger Wappen, Akino v.d. Lauterbruke, and that’s just naming a few.

How our pups are raised:

We want to give our puppies the best start to life possible. They are whelped and raised inside our home so that they become accustom to living in a home environment. We believe that along with the selection of outstanding Sires and Dams, proper socialization is crucial to the development of a pup into a well rounded adult dog with a stable temperament. An improperly socialized puppy can grow into a fearful animal that is unpredictable and dangerous.

We CAREFULLY begin the socializing process with them from birth, to everything possible until the time they leave our home. From the minute they are born they gently handled, and will continue to be handled countless times a day. During the first weeks of life they reside primarily in the whelping box in the protective care of their mother. We will spend a lot of time in the box with the mother and pups and even sleep beside it at nigh. The whelping box is kept clean and sanitary at all times. When they’re eyes are open and they have learned to walk, they begin to play around the house and exploring their brand new world, under close supervision at all times.

At very young ages the puppies begin traveling in the car on short trips. This can safely be done because while they are nursing, the mothers milk provides them with immunities to diseases. Still, we take every precaution to keep them safe and to not expose them to any illnesses. As they grow older they begin going on longer rides and begin going out and about to meet new people and see new places. Pups will experience other animals, children of all ages and people of all sorts. Do not let a breeder tell you that they cannot socialize their puppies because they will get sick. This is NOT true, and is nothing but pure laziness on the part of the so called “breeder”.

It is also very important for the new puppy owners to understand that when they take their new pup into their care it is their responsibility to continue the socializing process with the pup at least until it reaches the age of two years old. Raising a Rottweiler is a lot of work and takes a committed owner. While the rottweiler is truly a Magnificent animal, IT IS NOT A BREED FOR EVERYBODY. And that is why we take great care in selecting who our puppies will go to. Each pup develops its own unique personality and that is why we will select which puppy goes to what home based on what the buyer is looking for and what type of lifestyle they lead.
